        Anne P. Underhill,女,美国国籍,1954年出生,人类学博士。芝加哥费尔德自然历史博物馆人类学部研究员、主任。

(四)学术成就
Anne Underhill教授长期从事东亚古代社会复杂化进程的研究,尤其是对于黄淮海地区史前至历史时代早期的手工业(陶器为主)专门化生产有深入系统地研究,揭示了该地区陶器手工业由家庭式手工作坊发展为隶属式工业化生产的过程。她曾深入我国贵州和新疆等地,对当地陶器手工业做了深入的人类学调查。此外,她对于大汶口文化的墓葬及其所反映的人类行为也有独到见解。从1995年开始,她作为美方负责人,与我校开展了长达十余年的山东日照地区区域系统考古调查和发掘合作项目。该项目采用聚落考古的理论方法,对本地区史前至汉代时期的社会发展做了系统调查和研究。现该项目已有若干篇阶段性研究成果问世,在国内外产生重要影响。详情请见 http://www.bu.edu/asianarc/SUPPORT/archaeology.htm

(七)主要奖励
1. 2001: Our excavation at Liangchengzhen was selected by a panel of senior archaeologists and the National Bureau of Cultural Relics in China as one of the top seven excavations in China. The announcement was printed in the National Newsletter of Cultural Relics in Beijing, December 21, 2002 (mentioning Professors Cai Fengshu, Luan Fengshi, Yu Haiguang, Fang Hui, Anne Underhill/Chinese name Wen De An); the first time a collaborative international project with a foreign co-director has been given this honor.

(八)合作基础
Anne Underhill教授是我校立青讲座教授,曾数十次来我校讲学并开展合作研究,与我校有着长达十余年的合作经历,并已联合发表有一系列科研成果,目前与本引智基地国内科研骨干方辉和栾丰实教授联合培养博士研究生。她与本引智基地学术大师Henry Wright教授联系密切,我们在日照地区的考古合作项目就得到了Henry Wright教授的具体指导。
